Toronto Handball League – January-April 2012

Yes…it’s finally going to happen, the Toronto Team Handball League is here.

These are the details:

- Mixed Men/Women Recreational League
- Minimum age: 16 years
- Game times on Saturday afternoon (between 2:30-5:30pm) at Regina Pacis School (45 Norfinch Drive)
- League starts on January 28, and will run until Easter. Minimum 6 games per team guaranteed, likely more (roster dependent on registrations)
- Sign-up as a team or as an individual; individuals will be assigned to a team.
- Registration fee: $100 for members and $125 for non-members (includes THO membership). Fees include referee fees.
- Payment by cheque / cash / Paypal
- Register with TorontoHandballLeagueyahooca (TorontoHandballLeagueyahooca) by January 21, 2012.

Change of Training Location

From Friday October 21, trainings will be held at Regina Pacis School – 45 Norfinch Drive.

Trainings will start at 19:45pm untill ~22:00pm. Please make sure you arrive on time for the warm-up.

THO is looking for a suitable and affordable location to add another training night to the program.

Senior Men’s Training

The Senior Men’s training will commence on Friday September 16, 2011.

Trainings will be held at Monsignor Percy Johnson Catholic High School (2170 Kipling Ave, Toronto) from 8pm-10pm.

New ExCom elected!

During the AGM on August 15, 2011, the structure of the Executve Committee for the THO (ExCom) was amended and new directors and officers were elected. The constitution of the ExCom for 2011-2012 is as follows:

Sunday August 21, 2011 we will set up the goals and lines again on Woodbine Beach (close to the volleyball courts to the east and south of the Pavillion- you can find us because we are the only ones that have goals). Come and join us from 1:30-4:30pm and bring your friends to play this exciting game. Entry open to all those interested, just make your own team and join in for a friendly match!

Following dates for beach handball will be: September 4th and September 18th.

Youth Camp – August 15, 2011

National coach and IHF team handball lecturer, Mohamed Benkreira, will be in Toronto on August 15th to assist us in a one day youth camp.
The Youth Camp will take place at Central Technical School and will accommodate youth aged 11-15 years.

T.H.O Party

Team Handball Ontario is organizing its 1st party, in order to raise money for the Club. We’re a not for profit sports association promoting European Handball in Ontario, and our team is the only one in Toronto.

This event will help us to participe in The 2011 National Championship happening in Vancouver. We’re charging a $5 cover. It will also help us to develop the game right here in Toronto. Allow us to get more material, find better gym and all that is needed.

We hope to see you all Saturday April 9th at The Fox and Fiddle (just across from Wellesley subway station). Music, entertainment, and joy will be there.
