GOVERNING BODY OF HANDBALL SINCE 1978

Team Handball Ontario is the governing body of handball in the province and has been operating for over 40 years, dating back to 1978. We are a member of the Canadian Team Handball Federation (CTHF), North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation (NACHC) and the International Handball Federation (IHF). The sport is recognized and supported by both the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and the Coaches Association of Canada (CAC).

Ontario has a very storied history on the court, winning several national championships over the decades and producing numerous players for the Canadian national team. Our members have the distinct opportunity to participate in provincial and national team training camps that aim to send our best athletes to represent the Canadian national team at elite international competitions such as the Handball World Championships, Pan American Games, and Olympic Games.

In 2015, we hosted the handball program at the Pan American Games in Toronto to capacity crowds and universal praise. We aim to host future national and international competitions to provide our membership with the absolute best opportunities for the sport.

We are a very diverse and inclusive organization that also offer programs for men’s, women’s, youth, and schools for both Olympic Handball and Beach Handball. We also offer Wheelchair Handball as part of our “Handball For All” philosophy and mandate, which focuses on making handball accessible for everyone across the province. In addition to our vast array of playing opportunities, we offer handball coaching and referee training programs in order to further education for our trainers and officials.
