Thrilling Games Cap Another Successful Toronto Cup

Another scintillating series of matches was the story of the 2023 Toronto Cup.

The 2nd edition of the competition featured athletes, coaches, and referees from across Ontario, New York, and Michigan.

Held at Louis Arbor in Brampton it is the first competition in the province for the new new season.

Fresh off the backs of a silver medal performance in Montreal at the Celtique Thanksgiving Classic, Led by Jason Miller’s 25 goals, Handball Club Toronto Orange emerged victorious on home court going undefeated with four straight wins including a 25-23 thriller over Detroit Handball Club on Sunday.

Detroit’s Omar Yassen was named tournament MVP after leading the competition with 28 goals while the Most Valuable Goalie award went to Toronto’s Aleksandar Temelkovski after a series of stellar performances between the pipes.

On the women’s side it was West Point Military Academy Black that emerged with the gold after going undefeated including a 29-20 victory in the championship match over Toronto Black.

Toronto’s Dawn Song led the tournament in scoring with 28 goals while MVP honours went to West Point’s Alyssa Hershey after a weekend of dominant performances. Sarah Fazzolari of West Point was awarded best goalie.
